With the division lead in sight, the Montreal Canadiens have no intention of taking their foot off the gas pedal now.
Fresh off booking their ticket to the playoffs, the Canadiens are looking to begin a new win streak and get closer to the top of the divisional standings when they host the Florida Panthers at the Bell Centre Tuesday night.
Montreal, on 100 points from 77 games, is just two points behind the Atlantic division-leading Tampa Bay Lightning and Buffalo Sabres with five contests left this season.
The Habs saw their eight-game winning streak come to an end Sunday with a loss to the New Jersey Devils, putting pause on their quest for the division title.
That pursuit resumes Tuesday when the already-eliminated Panthers, the two-time defending Stanley Cup champions, come to town.
The game will also see Cole Caufield attempt once again to score his 50th goal of the season.
