Westbound traffic on Highway 1 slowed to a near stop, navigating around a semi truck that lost a tire by Whatcom Road in Abbotsford Thursday morning.
Callers to 1130 NewsRadio first reported the incident in the right lane around 7 a.m.
Since then, traffic backed up as far as No. 3 Road.
By 9:15 a.m., callers reported that the truck had been moved, emergency crews were responding, and the lanes had reopened, but congestion continues.
Drivers are advised to take South Parallel Road to avoid the worst of delays.
