STM revamps bus network as of May 18 when West Island REM branch opens

The STM will roll out a revamp of its bus network starting May 18, coinciding with the launch of the Anse-à-l’Orme branch of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) on Montreal’s West Island.

The redesign will affect nearly 80 bus routes across six boroughs and nine cities on the Island of Montreal, according to an STM press release.

“The arrival of a new REM line in the area presents a unique opportunity for the STM to rethink its network. The goal of the bus network overhaul is to improve the customer experience, adapt to current and future mobility needs, align the bus network with the arrival of the REM, and make it more efficient and attractive,” the press release reads.
