Montreal police (SPVM) are asking potential victims to come forward after a 29-year-old man was charged in connection with multiple alleged sexual assaults involving women he reportedly met at bars across the city.
SPVM said Jean-Philippe Oubda was arrested Wednesday and appeared the same day at the Montreal courthouse, where he was ordered detained.
Police allege Oubda sexually assaulted four women in separate incidents between August 2025 and January 2026. He faces charges including sexual assault, administering a noxious substance and overcoming resistance to the commission of an offence.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims.
According to the SPVM, Oubda allegedly approached women in various Montreal bars before inviting them to his residence, where police allege he drugged them without their knowledge and sexually assaulted them.
Police described the suspect as a 29-year-old man with dark skin who speaks French. He is approximately 1.71 metres tall, weighs about 65 kilograms and has brown eyes and brown hair.
The SPVM’s sexual assault section is urging anyone who may have been a victim or witness to contact 911 or investigators directly at 514-280-8502. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Info-Crime Montréal.
Police said the province’s Serial Crime Investigation Management Structure, coordinated by the Sûreté du Québec, has been activated in the case to help identify possible additional victims and coordinate resources among police services across Quebec.
