The Montreal Victoire are one win away from capturing the first Walter Cup in franchise history after taking a 2-0 series lead in the PWHL Final.
Saturday’s Game 2 win at Place Bell came in dramatic fashion, as Maggie Flaherty scored the overtime winner in a 2-1 victory over the Ottawa Charge.
Ottawa opened the scoring early in the first period, but Kati Tabin tied the game in the second before both teams went scoreless through the third and into overtime.
Flaherty sealed it 3:23 into the extra frame, finishing a setup from captain Marie-Philip Poulin to give Montreal a commanding series lead.
The Victoire now have their first chance to clinch the Walter Cup in Game 3 in Ottawa. Puck drop is set for 6 p.m. Eastern.
