Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is conducting an investigation following a serious incident where a man was severely injured by Toronto police officers deploying stun guns.
The incident took place in North York during the early hours of Tuesday in response to reports of an assault. According to the police watchdog, the 36-year-old man was subjected to multiple stun gun shots during his arrest, resulting in significant injuries that required hospitalization.
The SIU is appealing to potential witnesses who may have captured the incident on video to come forward and assist the ongoing investigation.
