Two Critically Injured in Violent Midnight Crash in Whitchurch-Stouffville

York Regional Police are probing a serious overnight crash in Whitchurch-Stouffville that resulted in two individuals sustaining life-threatening injuries and led to the shutdown of a key roadway for several hours.

The incident unfolded at the intersection of Bloomington Road and Kennedy Road around 12:35 a.m., initially believed to involve a lone vehicle. However, emergency responders discovered at least two wounded individuals, with one quickly transported to a trauma center in Toronto.

Both victims were subsequently taken to trauma hospitals, where they are grappling with critical injuries. Bloomington Road’s stretch from Warden Avenue to Kennedy Road has been sealed off as the Major Collision Investigation Unit assumes control of the investigation. The closure is expected to persist for an extended duration to facilitate thorough documentation of the scene and vehicle removal.

Authorities are advising the public to steer clear of the affected area and are making a plea for witnesses or individuals possessing dashcam footage to reach out to investigators.
