Toronto authorities are on the lookout for an individual following an assault on a man near the scenic Toronto waterfront, which is believed to have been driven by hate.
According to reports, the incident occurred in the Queens Quay West and Lower Spadina Avenue area on Saturday evening at about 7:30 pm. The suspect allegedly directed derogatory comments towards Sikhs and hurled racial insults at the victim before physically assaulting him with a weapon, causing a stab wound to his leg.
Fortunately, the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, as confirmed by law enforcement officials.
Described as approximately five-feet-six with black hair, the suspect was last spotted sporting a navy-blue short-sleeved jersey featuring the NFL “Sunday Ticket” emblem on the back, adorned with white stripes extending from the base of the neck down to the armpits. He was also wearing blue jeans marked with a dark grease stain on the left calf and grey and black New Balance running shoes.
Individuals with any relevant information are urged to reach out to the police.
