As schools gear up for the new academic year, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is preparing for an uptick in ridership following the summer hiatus and has unveiled plans to enhance service on streetcars, buses, and LRTs starting September 6.
In a recent announcement, the TTC revealed that Line 6 Finch West will see increased frequency, resulting in improved travel times and better reliability along the Finch West corridor.
To meet the growing demand and ensure smoother connections to educational institutions, service adjustments and enhancements will be made to 30 bus and streetcar routes. Notable route improvements include:

Complementing these service enhancements, certain routes like the 512/312 St. Clair Avenue streetcar route will undergo changes to accommodate the construction of a railway underpass in preparation for the new St. Clair-Old Weston transit station’s completion.
As part of these adjustments, streetcar service will conclude at Lansdowne Avenue, with replacement buses running between Lansdowne Station and Gunns Loop. Additionally, the 340 Junction bus will extend its route to Oakwood Avenue during overnight hours to cater to areas east of Lansdowne Avenue.
Further service modifications are scheduled for bus routes in the eastern part of the city, including updates at Pape station due to construction activities related to the Ontario Line.
