Jeff Beattie, a Progressive Conservative candidate and former city councillor and school board trustee in Hamilton, has emerged victorious in the Ontario provincial byelection for the Hamilton East–Stoney Creek riding. Celebrating his win alongside the premier, Beattie expressed gratitude, calling it “an honour of a lifetime.”
Reflecting on his past roles, Beattie emphasized the value of his experiences, referring to them as a toolbox that he aims to leverage for the benefit of the community. He highlighted his commitment to a collaborative “team Hamilton approach” to drive positive change and enhance the region’s development in partnership with the premier.
Praising the support he received during the campaign, Beattie acknowledged the backing of his friends and family, who saw the election as an opportunity to amplify his impact on a larger scale. He aspires to be a strong advocate for Hamilton East-Stoney Creek, drawing inspiration from Premier Ford’s leadership at the provincial level.
In a competitive race, Beattie secured victory over NDP candidate Monique Taylor and Liberal candidate Heino Doessing. The Ontario PC team, including Beattie and Susan Lahey, is poised to address key issues such as tariffs, worker protection, and vital investments in services and infrastructure crucial for Ontario families.
