An intense home invasion in Brampton has led to two individuals, one of them a teenager, being accused of attempted murder.
Recently released surveillance footage from Peel Region police captures three individuals approaching a residence in the early hours of June 14 in the McLaughlin Road and Steeles Avenue West vicinity. The intruders forcibly entered the home by shattering a rear glass door.
Upon gaining entry, a violent altercation ensued between the intruders and two occupants of the house, resulting in the residents being shot. Fortunately, the injured parties were promptly transported to a medical facility for treatment of their non-life-threatening wounds and were later discharged.
The surveillance footage reveals the assailants fleeing the scene in a dark SUV following the incident.
Subsequently, on July 15, law enforcement authorities apprehended 18-year-old Javaunie Thomas and a 16-year-old individual from Toronto. The pair have been charged with multiple offenses, including attempted murder using a firearm, aggravated assault, robbery, and various other criminal charges under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Meanwhile, the search continues for two additional suspects involved in the crime. One suspect is described as a tall male with a dark complexion and a sturdy build, while no description is available for the second suspect who was driving the getaway vehicle.
