Vancouver’s Science World to Remove FIFA World Cup Soccer Ball Panels from Iconic Dome
Science World in Vancouver has revealed that the soccer ball panels adorning its famous geodesic dome will be taken down this week.
The dome was transformed into a colossal soccer ball during the FIFA World Cup celebrations, becoming a beloved feature of Vancouver’s skyline by the waterfront.
The deinstallation process is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, starting on the east side of the building that faces Terminal Avenue. It is estimated to take approximately two to three weeks to complete.
Although the soccer ball design will soon vanish, Science World hinted at potential future uses for the panels.
Curious spectators are encouraged to stay tuned for an upcoming announcement regarding the fate of the panels once they are removed, as stated in a recent Facebook post by Science World.
Residents of Vancouver now have a final opportunity to admire the World Cup-themed structure before it reverts to its original appearance.
