Toronto to Bask in 20°C Saturday Sunshine Before Sunday Showers Roll In

Toronto is bracing for a warm Saturday followed by rainy weather on Sunday, ushering in a wetter pattern that may persist through next week.

This weekend, the city is expected to experience a daytime high of 20 °C on Saturday under partly sunny skies, offering a pleasant break from the typical mid-October weather. There might be a slight chance of showers in the evening, but overall, it will be warmer than usual for this time of year based on historical climate data.

However, the warmth will be short-lived as Sunday is forecasted to bring steady rainfall and a high near 18 °C. Meteorologists anticipate up to 20–25 millimetres of precipitation throughout the day, accompanied by gusty winds from the south exceeding 20 km/h.

The rainy conditions are likely to persist into Monday and Tuesday, causing daytime highs to drop back to the mid-teens range. Towards midweek, Toronto could face a series of rainy days, a common weather pattern in late October as colder air masses move in.

In past years, Toronto has experienced varying temperatures on October 18, with the warmest reaching 23 °C in 2016 and the coldest hitting just 7 °C in 2009. This year’s forecast aligns more closely with the higher end of the historical range.

October in Toronto is characterized by transitioning weather, with average highs decreasing from around 20 °C at the beginning of the month to 11–12 °C by the end. The city typically receives 80–90 millimetres of rain in October spread over 10 to 12 rainy days.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Saturday will offer the best opportunity to enjoy the autumn foliage and mild temperatures before the rain sets in. Sunday’s wet conditions may affect outdoor plans and travel arrangements, especially with heavier downpours anticipated later in the day.
