Workers from the BC Wildfire Service and the provincial Ministry of Forests went on strike on Wednesday, amidst an ongoing public sector strike that has now entered its eighth week.
The recent development has pushed the total count of employees participating in the strike to over 25,000 across 550 different work locations.
The BC General Employees’ Union revealed on Friday that their negotiation team had reached a decision to engage in informal discussions with the province. These talks will be facilitated by mediators Vince Ready and Amanda Rogers.
