Former NHL Star Ryan Kesler Faces Criminal Sexual Conduct Charges in Michigan
Former Vancouver Canucks player, Ryan Kesler, is facing legal troubles as he has been charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct in Michigan. The 41-year-old was arraigned through Zoom in Bloomfield Hills District Court where he pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanour charges stemming from incidents alleged to have occurred on January 1 in Orchard Lake.
Kesler’s bond was set at US$50,000, with a 10% deposit requirement, and he was instructed not to leave Michigan without court authorization. Additionally, he is mandated to attend all scheduled court hearings. A probable-cause conference is scheduled for November 6, followed by a preliminary examination on November 13.
Originally from Livonia, Michigan, Kesler played for the Vancouver Canucks from 2003 to 2014 before being traded to the Anaheim Ducks, where he later retired in 2019. Known for his contributions to the United States Olympic teams in 2010 and 2014, Kesler also achieved recognition in the NHL by winning the Frank J. Selke Trophy in 2011 as the league’s top defensive forward. Notably, he was part of Vancouver’s memorable journey to the Stanley Cup finals in 2011.
