The pass rate for Quebec’s nursing entrance exam has been steadily improving, as reported by the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ). Recent data shows that 88% of candidates successfully passed the exam conducted on September 18, leading to the influx of 2,287 new nurses into the healthcare workforce throughout the province.
The nursing entrance exam underwent revisions in response to a sharp increase in failures observed in 2022 and 2023, when pass rates plummeted to just over 50%. However, the successful candidates have seen significant growth, with pass rates rising from 63% in September 2023 to an impressive 94.6% in September 2024, and currently standing at 88% in 2025.
