A man from Ajax has been apprehended in connection with a recent shooting incident in Rexdale that left two individuals wounded.
The incident unfolded on the evening of Sept. 29, when Toronto law enforcement responded to a distress call at the intersection of Rexdale Boulevard and Islington Avenue at approximately 7:30 p.m.
According to reports, the accused allegedly targeted two individuals in the vicinity, resulting in both victims sustaining injuries from the gunfire. They were promptly transported to the hospital for treatment of their non-life-threatening wounds.
After a thorough inquiry, authorities successfully identified and apprehended the suspect on Oct. 28. Upon his arrest, it was discovered that he was carrying a loaded semi-automatic handgun.
Muhammad Sheref, aged 28 and hailing from Ajax, now faces multiple weapons-related charges in addition to two counts of aggravated assault.
