“Futur Montréal Chief Sets Sights on Party Expansion Following Debut Election”

Futur Montréal, a new party that emerged just months before an election, faced a challenging task.

Led by Jean-François Kacou, the party secured about 2.12% of the general vote, totaling 8,713 votes in the election won by Soraya Martinez Ferrada and Ensemble Montréal.

While no candidates from Futur Montréal were elected, Kacou remains optimistic about the party’s future. He expressed pride in their team’s efforts during the 60-day campaign, emphasizing their grassroots approach and online outreach to engage with potential voters.

Kacou, a newcomer in politics, champions a centrist and pragmatic ideology that resonates with Montrealers. His campaign focused on key issues such as revamping housing for the homeless, enhancing public transportation, and promoting renewable energy infrastructure.

Looking ahead, Kacou aims to strengthen the party by organizing annual congresses, establishing local committees, and empowering party members through an inclusive constitution-building process.
