Pedestrian Hospitalized Following Vehicle Strike in Surrey: A Call for Safer Streets

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is currently probing a serious incident where an SUV collided with a pedestrian on Monday evening. The event unfolded near the crossing of King George Boulevard and 40 Avenue around 6 p.m.

Upon receiving reports of the accident, law enforcement swiftly responded to the scene. Aside from the unfortunate collision involving the pedestrian, there were minor incidents among other drivers, but with no additional injuries reported.

The pedestrian, a woman, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition following the impact.

While the driver responsible for the pedestrian accident cooperated with authorities at the site, the exact cause of the collision remains a focal point of the ongoing investigation.

As part of the inquiry process, investigators had to temporarily close down the northbound lanes of King George Boulevard for a considerable duration. Fortunately, the lanes have since been reopened for traffic.

Footage from the location displays emergency response teams encircling a white crossover SUV bearing significant damage to its windshield, side mirror, and front bumper.
