Police in Hamilton have arrested a 53-year-old man for trespassing near McMaster University. The incident unfolded when a woman living in a student housing complex in the Westdale area spotted a suspicious individual in her backyard late one evening. She quickly dialed 911 after witnessing the man tampering with a light fixture before making a hasty retreat.
Responding swiftly, officers managed to apprehend the suspect in a neighboring yard shortly thereafter. Initially providing a false identity, the man was identified as George Braid, a 53-year-old with no fixed address. Authorities revealed that Braid has a history of similar infractions and was subsequently charged with obstructing a police officer, criminal harassment, and other related offenses.
