The iconic Seawall in Stanley Park, Vancouver, is back in action after a brief two-week closure for essential maintenance and slope stabilization work. The Vancouver Park Board announced the reopening, highlighting the extensive efforts undertaken to ensure the safety and preservation of this beloved coastal pathway.
Maintenance activities during the closure period included power washing Siwash Rock, clearing vegetation, removing debris, and conducting thorough inspections of netting and rock anchors. These ongoing efforts have been a vital part of the park’s upkeep for nearly two decades, aimed at safeguarding visitors from potential rockslides along the pathway.
The City of Vancouver emphasized the importance of these maintenance practices in preserving the natural beauty and safety of the Seawall, spanning from Third Beach to Prospect Point. The community can now once again enjoy the scenic views and recreational opportunities offered by this renowned waterfront trail.
