“Brace for Impact: Twin Alberta Clippers to Unleash 10 cm Snow Barrage by Wednesday Night”

Get ready for a snowy week ahead in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) as not one, but two Alberta Clippers are making their way towards us. These systems pack a punch, potentially dropping a total of 10 centimetres of snow by Wednesday night.

The first clipper will kick things off on Tuesday, starting with a light dusting of 1-3 centimetres in the afternoon. As the day progresses, expect gusty winds up to 50 to 55 kilometres per hour, causing occasional blowing snow.

Higher snowfall amounts of 4 to 5 cm are possible in areas like Kitchener and Cambridge, so stay prepared for varying conditions across the region.

The second system will roll in late Tuesday night and into Wednesday, leading to a slow and snowy start for your morning commute. While wet snow will dominate initially, some rain may mix in along the lake shore by midday. Locations further north and east of Toronto are likely to see consistent snowfall.

South GTA could receive an additional 3 to 6 centimetres of snow, while the north GTA might get hit with 4 to 8 centimetres, locally up to 10 centimetres away from the lake. Brace yourselves for potentially icy roads and walkways as temperatures plummet to -6 C with northwest winds on Wednesday night.

By Thursday morning, there’s a chance of lake effect snow in the northern areas before Toronto faces what could be the coldest air of the season over the weekend. Temperatures will steadily drop on Sunday, hitting a bone-chilling -14 C by the evening without factoring in wind chill.

Get those winter coats ready as these Alberta Clippers make their way through, bringing with them the classic combo of light snow, strong winds, and chilly temperatures typical of these fast-moving systems.
