“Montreal Native Clinches Historic Victory as First Canadian to Win Mr. Friendship Universe International 2025!”

Philippe Laurin made history at the Mr. Friendship Universe 2025 competition by becoming the first Canadian to win the title and the first openly neurodivergent contestant to do so. His victory over competitors from more than 40 countries marked a significant moment in the world of beauty pageants.

Laurin, reflecting on his journey, shared his childhood dream of participating in a universal pageant, inspired by watching beauty pageants with his grandmother. The opportunity to compete at Mr. Universe International was a dream come true for him, and his win was celebrated by his fellow contestants.

Expressing his gratitude for the support he received, Laurin highlighted the importance of representation for neurodivergent individuals. Despite facing challenges in social interactions due to his neurodivergent condition, he proudly represented his country and his neurodivergent community on an international stage.

His success not only showcased his natural stage presence but also his determination to overcome obstacles. Laurin acknowledged the differences in how his brain functions, emphasizing his visual learning style and occasional struggles with coordination and sleep. Despite these challenges, he embraced the opportunity, mentally preparing himself for the competition ahead.

In a remarkable parallel, Laurin found common ground with Miss Universe Fatima Bosch from Mexico, who also openly discussed living with dyslexia and ADHD. Both breaking barriers and defying stereotypes, Laurin and Bosch symbolize the strength and resilience of neurodivergent individuals in pursuing their dreams on the global stage.
