PCQ Expands 2026 Election Battlefront, Unveils Two Dynamic New Candidates!

With the upcoming elections in Quebec just around the corner, political parties are gearing up for a heated campaign season. The Conservative Party of Quebec (PCQ) has wasted no time in announcing their candidates for the Quebec City region ahead of the October election.

Marie-Josée Hélie is making a second bid for election with Éric Duhaime’s Conservatives, aiming to secure victory in the Montmorency riding and challenge the Coalition Avenir Québec.

Meanwhile, a new face in the political arena, Eliot Estévez-Verville, a student at Laval University, has also been unveiled as a candidate. He is vying for the Taschereau riding, currently held by Québec solidaire.

Recent announcements by Conservative leader Éric Duhaime have highlighted the party’s determination, with lawyer Jonathan Poulin set to compete again in the Beauce-Sud riding after a narrow loss in 2022.

Additionally, the Parti Québécois has introduced Sandra Hernandez as a candidate for the upcoming 2026 elections, although her specific riding remains undisclosed.

Despite facing challenges in the past, the Conservatives have shown promise, garnering 13% of the vote in 2022. Projections from polling aggregator Qc125 suggest a potentially stronger outcome this year, with predictions of winning up to eight seats.
