Montreal Gripped by Wintry Blast: Snow Blankets the City as Temperatures Plunge

The winter season is far from over, with snow and chilly temperatures persisting in the coming days.

Today, expect thickening clouds and light snow later this afternoon, with temperatures hovering around minus–9 degrees Celsius. While winds will be light, wind chills may drop to minus–24 C in the morning, improving to around minus–14 C later in the day.

Snowfall will continue through the night, adding 2 to 4 cm of snow and lowering temperatures to about minus–11 C, with wind chills feeling like minus–18 C.

On Saturday, the light snow will taper off by noon, giving way to mostly cloudy skies. Strong northwest winds reaching 40 km/h will cause temperatures to plummet to minus–15 C in the afternoon, with wind chills near minus–23 C.

Saturday night will bring calmer but cold conditions, with a low of minus–18 C. Sunday will be clear but still chilly, with temperatures struggling to reach minus–14 C. However, Monday will offer a brief reprieve with sunny skies and a slight warm-up to minus–7 C.

Clouds will return on Tuesday with a chance of flurries overnight, followed by more widespread snow later in the week as temperatures start to rise gradually.
