A Quebec City-Area Teenager Faces Terrorism Charge for Promoting Neo-Nazi Group Online
Authorities have revealed that a teenager from the Quebec City area is facing a serious terrorism charge for his alleged involvement in promoting the neo-Nazi organization Atomwaffen Division through social media platforms.
The individual, who remains unnamed due to being a minor, is suspected of creating and sharing online content with the intention of encouraging and recruiting others to the extremist group.
The teenager is scheduled to appear in a Quebec City court on Friday to address the charge of engaging in activities that support a terrorist group.
Atomwaffen Division is characterized by the Canadian government as a radical neo-Nazi extremist group advocating for violent actions targeting various racial, religious, and ethnic communities.
Originally established in the United States in 2015, the group has since spread its influence and was designated as a terrorist organization in Canada in 2021.
In a separate incident, an Ottawa man received a 10-year prison sentence in September for disseminating hate propaganda against the Jewish community on behalf of the same group.
