Gunshots rang out at a residence in Whitchurch-Stouffville late Thursday evening, as confirmed by a statement from the York Regional Police released on Friday.
Responding to a call, police arrived at a house on Harold Avenue, situated near 9th Line, at approximately 9 p.m.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, although the property sustained damage, according to authorities.
The police release indicated that while it is believed the house was the intended target of the shooting, the current occupants, who recently moved in, were not the primary focus of the attack.
As of now, there is no information on the suspect or the vehicle involved in the incident.
Investigators are urging anyone with access to video surveillance footage or dashcam recordings from the vicinity at the time of the shooting to assist in the ongoing investigation.
