An emergency intervention at a pumping station has forced the complete closure of Rue de la Savane in Longueuil as of 6 a.m. Tuesday.
According to the Service de police de l’agglomération de Longueuil (SPAL), the street is closed between Leckie and Bishop streets and will remain shut down for an indefinite period.
In a statement posted on X, police said emergency work began early Tuesday at the pumping station located on Rue de la Savane. Crews are expected to remain on site throughout the day as repairs continue.
Authorities have not provided details about what prompted the emergency repairs. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes until further notice.
