“La Caisse Emerges: Quebec’s Investment Giant Unveils New Name, Signals Fresh Vision”

The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec has changed its name: from CDPQ, its official name for the past few years, it has now become La Caisse.

According to La Presse, three Quebec agencies were involved in this name change, which cost just over $368,000.

Quebec firms Cossette, LG2 and Robic were involved in the legal registration of the brand, the research, recommendations, and the creation and development of the new brand, which is part of the integration of La Caisse’s real estate subsidiaries.

In Jan. 2024, La Caisse brought Otéra and Ivanhoé Cambridge back into its fold.

To make a smooth transition, La Caisse’s communications are currently accompanied by small notes such as “À La Caisse, formerly known under the CDPQ brand.”

Elsewhere, CDPQ is added in parentheses so as not to create confusion.

This change of brand comes as the institution celebrates its 60th anniversary.

La Caisse was created in 1965, under Jean Lesage’s government.
