Police Probe Suspected Murder Following Grisly Discovery in Richmond Residence

Homicide investigators were called to the scene of a “serious incident” at a Richmond home Friday morning.

Details are limited, but police say the Richmond RCMP responded to reports of the incident on Capstan Way and Sexsmith Road around 10:40 a.m.

“Upon arrival, a female victim was located and transported to hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased,” said Mounties.

The Lower Mainland’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has since taken over the case.

The RCMP says a male suspect has been arrested.

Investigators declined 1130 NewsRadio’s requests for more information, adding only that IHIT is called any time there is a suspicious death.

Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
