Shots Ring Out at Surrey Business, No Injuries Reported

Surrey police are investigating after shots were fired at a banquet hall Monday morning.

The Surrey Police Service says officers were called to the Royal King Palace Convention Centre on 128 Street around 11 a.m. for a report of damage to the building’s exterior that staff first discovered around 1 a.m.

“Upon police arrival it was confirmed that the damage was likely made from gun shots,” the SPS said in a release Monday afternoon.

Police say no one was injured and no other surrounding properties were damaged.

“It is unknown if the business damaged was the intended target or when the shots were fired.”

Investigators are exploring motives and seeking witnesses.
