A man was arrested after a stabbing in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough on Monday morning that left two injured.
Montreal police (SPVM) received multiple 911 calls around 11 a.m. about the incident at the corner of Atwater Avenue and Delisle Street.
“According to initial information, it’s two individuals who had a conflict with another individual,” said a SPVM spokesperson, Manuel Couture. “It’s really close to Maison Benoît Labre, so we had a vast parameter.”
“Inside the parameter we had a dog handler who looked everywhere for proof,” he added. “And it was around La Maison Benoît Labre but the event really happened on the street.”
“There was a bus shelter just between the metro and the corner of the street and there was blood on the bus shelter,” Couture told CityNews.
Upon arrival, police said that they located two male victims, aged 35 and 48. According to Couture, both had significant upper body injuries, but there is no danger for their life.
The victims were transferred to hospital, and a 23-year-old man was arrested.
“The suspect did not flee police officer,” explained Couture. “He stayed on the scene.”
An investigation is ongoing.
