Mystery at Abbotsford: Police Probe Suspicious Death in Senior Care Facility

Police in Abbotsford are investigating the suspicious death of a patient at a seniors care home earlier this month.

Sgt. Paul Walker from the Abbotsford Police Department says that on July 6, two patients from Menno Home were transported to Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

“Both individuals were experiencing medical emergencies that raised concerns due to their suspicious nature,” Walker said.

One of the two patients died several days later on July 10.

The AbbyPD Major Crime Unit has since taken over the investigation and is working closely with Menno Home to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“Detectives are currently in the early stages of this complex case,” Walker explained.

“We have been fully supporting the police in their process as the safety and well-being of our residents remains our top priority,” Connors added.

“We immediately implemented additional safety measures to keep your loved one safe.”
