“Montreal Braces for Sizzling Sunshine and Rising Temperatures This Week!”

Starting the week with another scorcher for Montreal, as temperatures are slated to rise to a high of 31°C with a humidex of 38°C.

Partly cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers this evening. Becoming clear overnight with a low of 23°C.

More sun and high heat for Tuesday, with a high of 32 °C and a UV index of nine or very high. Showers expected in the evening which will cool things off a bit, down to a low of 20°C.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for showers and a high of 25°C. The evening calling for clear skies and a low of 15°C.

Thursday will be more comfortable with sunny skies and a high of 24°C. Clearing in the evening with a low of 15°C.

Friday, sunny again with a high of 25°C and clear skies for the evening and a low of 13°C.

The long-term weekend forecast calling for more sun and high temperatures hovering between 27°C and 31 °C.

Environment Canada cautions to stay out of the sun, drink plenty of water and check on seniors and those living alone.

Quebec’s air quality to improve this week

Quebec will be able to breathe easier by the end of the week, as a weather system will push wildfire smoke from Western Canada back to the United States.

Conditions are expected to be “more acceptable” in the coming days, according to Environment Canada.

It is very difficult to predict exactly whether smoke episodes could recur in the coming weeks in Quebec.

On Saturday morning, Montreal was the city with the worst air quality in the world. The IQAir monitoring site gave the city an index of more than 210, which is “very bad for your health.”

By Sunday afternoon, values were already down across the province, with indexes of 155 in Montreal, 126 in Trois-Rivières and 124 in Quebec City.
