Police say a woman was rescued after she was found clinging for life in the Fraser River over the weekend.
The New Westminster Police Department says it was called to reports of a woman struggling in the water at 4 a.m. Sunday.
Officers accompanied by the Canadian Coast Guard managed to spot the woman from a boat after a half hour of searching.
She was seen holding onto a log boom in the water.
Police provided life-saving first aid to the woman before paramedics arrived on scene.
The department did not disclose how the woman got there, but police say she was in crisis and has since been connected with her health-care team.
