Summer events planned to celebrate 50th anniversary of 1976 Olympics in Montreal

As Montreal celebrates the golden jubilee of the 1976 Olympic Games, several events are planned across the city to commemorate the games throughout the summer.

Earlier this spring, the City of Montreal, Olympic Park, Parc Jean-Drapeau and the Canadian Olympic Committee announced that the city will mark the anniversary with a year-long program of events across the city.

The Olympic Stadium esplanade will get in the spirit of 1976 with Édition Montréal Olympique period-inspired staging, archival visuals and cultural programming. There will be immersive decorations from the archives with an international twist, a nod to the 92 countries which participated in the games five decades ago.

They will participated in different activities like the commemorative exhibition at Stewart Museum.

Olympic Park will host a musical event to pay tribute to people who made the Montreal games possible.
