A teenager from Ajax was apprehended in connection with a firearm inquiry, as confirmed by the Durham Regional Police.
Officials disclosed that Tuan Ubayd Badurdeen, a 19-year-old, was taken into custody in early July following a search warrant execution at a residence in Pickering.
“After locating the suspect inside the residence, authorities arrested him without any issues,” stated the police in a press release shared on Friday.
During the search of the residence, law enforcement discovered a Glock auto sear switch, illegal drugs, and drug-related items, according to reports.
Reports indicate that Badurdeen was under weapons prohibition conditions when he was apprehended.
He is facing four charges, including possession of a banned device, failure to adhere to conditions, and possession of a Schedule 1 substance with intent to traffic.
Badurdeen was detained for a bail hearing.
