York Regional Police (YRP) are on the lookout for a 20-year-old man from Toronto who is facing allegations of assaulting and choking a 15-year-old girl inside an abandoned building in Vaughan.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on Sunday, July 12, at a neglected property near Jane Street and Hwy. 7. The young girl was reportedly attacked with a weapon and choked, but she bravely managed to escape and alert the police. The suspect fled before law enforcement arrived at the scene.
Although the victim sustained minor injuries and received medical attention, the severity of the assault has spurred an urgent search for the accused individual.
The identified suspect is Avi Jackson-Bungiena, a 20-year-old Toronto resident wanted for assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, and two counts of breach of probation. He was already under probation for an offense involving a different victim at the time of the incident.
Officials have provided a description of the suspect as a 6-foot-1 individual with a slender build, weighing 135 pounds, brown eyes, and short black hair. He was last seen dressed in a black T-shirt, black shorts, and white running shoes.
Despite efforts, law enforcement has been unsuccessful in locating the suspect, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant.
