A vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence was the target of an arson attack Wednesday evening in Montreal.
The vehicle in question was located in a residential driveway on Blvd. de Pierrefonds, near Rue Louis-Fréchette, in the Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough.
When police arrived at the scene at around 11:40 p.m., firefighters were already working to extinguish the blaze. Once the blaze was out, incendiary material was spotted.
“A suspect was reportedly seen setting fire to the vehicle and then leaving in an unknown direction. No one was injured during the fire. No suspects have been arrested,” said Constable Johany Charland, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM).
The targeted vehicle was heavily damaged and towed for examination. The flames also damaged another vehicle parked nearby.
The investigation into this event will be conducted by the SPVM arson unit.
