“Blue Jays Monument Rises: Iconic Statue at Rogers Centre Salutes World Series Glory”

A new statue commemorating the Toronto Blue Jays’ back-to-back World Series victories in 1992 and 1993 has been revealed outside Rogers Centre.

The statue captures the iconic moment when Joe Carter, the team’s right-fielder, joyfully leaps around the bases after hitting a walk-off home run to secure the 1993 World Series title.

Situated at the southeast corner of the stadium, adjacent to Gate 5, the statue serves as a tribute to the Blue Jays franchise as it celebrates its 50th year.

The unveiling ceremony saw the gathering of nearly 30 former players from the championship-winning teams, including Joe Carter, Pat Borders – the MVP of the 1992 World Series, and Paul Molitor – the MVP of the 1993 World Series.

This new statue replaces the former memorial of Edward S. Rogers, the late owner of the Blue Jays who passed away in 2008.
