A man in his 60s riding a motorcycle is in critical condition following an incident on the Charest East Expressway in Quebec City on Sunday. According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), alcohol and speed are being investigated as potential factors in the accident.
The SQ reported that emergency services were alerted to the scene at approximately 5:30 p.m. SQ spokesperson Geneviève Bruneau stated that the motorcyclist, who was in the left lane, may have made a sudden lane change to access the Henri IV North Expressway ramp, leading to the vehicle veering off the road.
Bruneau mentioned that the victim was unconscious upon the arrival of emergency responders. Paramedics provided initial medical assistance before transferring him to a hospital.
