A B.C. court has convicted a woman of stabbing a stranger to death in Vancouver’s Yaletown three years ago.
At 8:30 a.m. on July 11, 2022, 29-year-old Justin Mohrmann was stabbed in the chest near the intersection of Smithe and Homer streets.
Less than a week later, the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) arrested then-34-year-old Lindsay Scott, who was charged with second-degree murder.
In an update Thursday, the VPD says Scott was recently found guilty of manslaughter. The court imposed a six-year jail sentence, followed by a three-year probation, a 10-year firearms prohibition, with mandatory treatment at a forensic hospital.

“The court found that mental illness and drug use were factors in the offence,” police explained.
Mohrmann’s death happened amid a reported series of stranger attacks in Vancouver at the time.
