A jewelry store was the target of a robbery Thursday at Place Vertu Mall in the borough of Saint-Laurent. Three suspects have been arrested, while others are still at large.
The event occurred at 2:15 p.m. at the shopping mall located on Côte-Vertu Boulevard West, near Cavendish Boulevard, according to police.
No one was injured.
According to witnesses, the suspects smashed the windows of the jewelry store’s displays with a blunt object to remove valuables. They then fled in a vehicle before the police arrived.
Police located the getaway vehicle near du College and Decarie Boulevard, only a few blocks away from the store.
Three suspects, aged 19, 20 and 21, were arrested and transported to a detention centre, where investigators will question them.
Other suspects are still being sought.
The SPVM was able to recover some of the stolen jewelry. The total value of the theft has not yet been determined.
