A young man, aged 23, was rushed to the hospital following an alleged stabbing incident that occurred in Montreal’s vibrant Plateau-Mont-Royal area during the early hours of Friday.
Reportedly, Montreal police (SPVM) were alerted around 3:30 a.m. when the victim approached them, claiming to have been attacked by a suspect who quickly fled the vicinity, close to the intersection of St-Laurent Boulevard and Prince-Arthur Street.
Sustaining stab wounds to his upper body, the victim was promptly hospitalized, although his condition was deemed stable with no life-threatening injuries.
SPVM spokesperson Manuel Couture mentioned that a heated altercation transpired between the victim and the suspect just prior to the stabbing, as per initial assessments.
As of now, no suspects have been apprehended in connection with the incident.
Authorities are scheduled to conduct a thorough investigation at the crime scene, collecting evidence and interviewing potential witnesses.
