A driver is fighting for his life in hospital after losing control of his vehicle on Saturday morning in Kingsey Falls, near Victoriaville.
Emergency services arrived at around 7 a.m. at the scene of the accident, which occurred on Route 255, near Route du Mont Proulx, in this municipality located in the Centre-du-Québec region.
“The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle in a curve and ended up in a ditch. He was alone in the vehicle,” said Sergeant Ève Brochu-Joubert, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Firefighters were called in to help extricate him from the vehicle using jaws of life.
“The driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. We fear for his life,” Sergeant Joubert said in an interview.
“A patrol officer trained in collision investigation is on site to determine the circumstances surrounding the event,” she added.
The SQ investigation is ongoing.
