A tragic collision in Scarborough has resulted in the death of a 68-year-old woman and injuries to two others, leading to charges against a Toronto man.
The incident occurred on the evening of October 11 near Lawrence Avenue East and Scarborough Golf Club Road. A grey 2014 BMW collided with a red 2017 Ford Escape, resulting in the fatality and injuries.
Florin Mitea, 34, has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing harm and death, along with obstructing a peace officer. He appeared in court on Tuesday.
His brother, Gabriel Mitea, 25, has also been charged with obstructing a peace officer and is set to appear in court in December.
Police are continuing their investigation and seeking witnesses or dash camera footage. Anyone with information is urged to contact Toronto police.
