Pascal Paradis Takes Helm as Quebec’s New Chief Negotiator in Key Talks

After being defeated in the recent elections, former PQ MNA Pascal Paradis has now been appointed as the chief diplomat and negotiator by the new government led by Paul St-Pierre Plamondon. In his new role, Paradis will engage in discussions with Indigenous nations and will also be involved in negotiating the renewal of the free trade agreement with the United States.

Known for his strong parliamentary background, Paradis will focus on maintaining positive relationships with Indigenous communities, ensuring open communication channels, and addressing energy and treaty-related issues. He will also play a key role in Quebec’s international relations, particularly in trade talks with the United States.

Despite his unexpected defeat in the elections, Paradis will now support the future Minister of International Relations of Quebec while reporting directly to the premier. This appointment underscores the government’s commitment to prioritizing dialogue and coherence in its actions.
