Various closures are expected to cause delays to motorists over the weekend in Montreal.
Road closures are expected for the Honoré-Mercier Bridge, Sainte-Croix Avenue, Côte-de-Liesse Road West, eastbound Saint-Jacques Street, and Côte-Saint-Luc Road, as well as service disruptions for the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM).
The Honoré-Mercier Bridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 11 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, and 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 25.
Officials say a detour will be in place via Lafleur Avenue and Clément Street. For the reserved lane, detour via Avenue du Trésor-Caché, Boulevard Lasalle, Rue des Oblats, Rue Airlie and follow detour via Avenue Lafleur and Rue Clément.
Sainte-Croix Avenue will be completely closed in both directions between Côte-de-Liesse Road West and Dion Street.
This closure will begin at 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22 and will last until 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 25.
Despite this Sainte-Croix Avenue North, under the A-40 will have one lane open.
A northbound detour will be in place via Côte-de-Liesse Road West, Décarie Blvd. North, Côte-Vertu Blvd. and Sainte-Croix Avenue. Additionally, a southbound detour will be in place via Dion Street, Décarie Blvd. South, Tournebride Marcel-Laurin, Côte-de-Liesse Road West, Devonshire Road and Côte-de-Liesse Road East.
Officials note that trucks on Sainte-Croix Avenue North, left turn prohibited towards Côte-de-Liesse Road West, and will have to detour via Dion Street, Décarie Boulevard South and Tournebride Boulevard Marcel-Laurin.
Three out of four lanes along Côte-de-Liesse Road West will be closed between 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22 until 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 25.
The partial closure will be between Houde Street and Sainte-Croix Avenue.
Eastbound Saint-Jacques Street will be completely closed between Seigneurs and Guy Streets.
The closure will be in place between 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22 until 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 25.
Detours will be in place along des Seigneurs Street, Notre-Dame Street, Guy Street and Saint-Jacques Street. Trucks will need to detour via Atwater Avenue South, Saint-Patrick Street, Thomas-Keefer Street, Atwater Avenue North, Notre-Dame Street, de la Montagne Street and Saint-Jacques Street.
Côte-Saint-Luc Road will be be completely closed between Décarie Boulevard and Victoria Avenue.
An eastbound detour will be in place via Décarie Blvd. North, Queen Mary Road and Victoria Avenue. A westbound detour will be in place via Victoria Avenue, Côte-Saint-Antoine Road, Décarie Blvd. North and Côte-Saint-Luc Road.
The City of Montreal says service disruptions are expected for the REM over the weekend. Due to this, the REM will be closed on Aug. 23 and 24.
Shuttles are expected to be in place along the route in place of the trains.
