Toronto authorities are on the lookout for a 14-year-old boy connected to a shooting incident in Scarborough that left two individuals injured and hospitalized over the weekend.
According to reports, officers were summoned to Tansley Avenue and Paloma Place, located just west of Danforth Road, shortly before 5:15 p.m. on Sunday following reports of an armed individual in the area.
Upon arrival, they discovered two men in their twenties with gunshot wounds, both of whom were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Due to the regulations of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of suspects under 18 cannot be disclosed. Nevertheless, Toronto police have been granted permission to reveal the image of the individual they are seeking.
The suspect in question has been named as 14-year-old Valentino Bethel, hailing from Toronto. Bethel is facing a total of 11 charges, including two counts of attempted murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm, discharge of a firearm with intent, possession of a firearm in a vehicle without permission, and failure to comply with a release order, among other offenses.
Described as six feet tall and weighing 150 pounds, Bethel is considered armed and dangerous by authorities.
The judicial authorization permitting the release of his image is set to expire on September 9th at 1 p.m.
