Residents in Greenfield Park and the Le Moyne sector are urged to boil their water starting September 27 at 8 p.m. due to planned maintenance at the Le Royer water plant which could impact water quality temporarily.
The preventive boil water advisory is set to last a minimum of 48 hours.
During this period, the Le Royer plant will be closed for essential maintenance, and the affected areas (Greenfield Park borough, Le Moyne sector, Brossard, and Saint-Lambert) will receive water from the Louise-Gravel and Mario-Petrone plants.
The maintenance work involves valve replacements, main line inspections, and flow meter upgrades to enhance network reliability and water supply security, meeting Quebec Government standards for water conservation.
Residents may experience discolored water during the maintenance period, but it is recommended to let the water run until clear before boiling for a minute before use. Potential drops in water pressure may also occur.
To prepare, residents are advised to stock up on water and contact the Citizen Service Centre at 311 if water runs out or significant pressure drops are noticed. Additionally, residents are encouraged to reduce water consumption to ensure sufficient supply for all.
The maintenance is set to conclude on Monday, with updates available through official channels.
